The Mississippi Department of Revenue (MDOR) has notified the MSCPA they will work with
ones that are impacted by the winter storm. MDOR has not issued a blanket extension for the
filing of the W-2s due on Monday, February 2, 2026, but staff will certainly grant an extension
on a case-by-case basis. You may contact MDOR at 601-923-7000 or use txassist@dor.ms.gov
to request the extension.

Also, if a penalty were to be issued later, MDOR would consider the timing of the storm as long
as the W-2 informational returns were filed within a reasonable amount of time.
