CONTROLLER – CORPORATE OFFICE | TUPELO, MS

Methodist Senior Services is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for our multi-campus, nonprofit senior-living organization. This on-site leadership role oversees accounting staff, financial reporting, compliance, and financial planning while providing guidance to executive and operational leaders.

Duties Include:

• Lead accounting operations across multiple campuses/entities, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting; lead and develop accounting staff.
• Oversee accounting and financial reporting systems, including user access, chart of accounts, and report design.
• Ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key metrics; provide financial analysis and actionable guidance to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner with executive and operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decisions.
• Oversee tax filings, cost reports, reimbursement reporting, and regulatory submissions.
• Improve accounting systems, processes, reporting, internal controls, policies, and operational efficiency.
• Lead the annual audit and serve as liaison with external auditors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience.
• Multi-entity or multi-site accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Healthcare, senior living, or nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and collaborate with an accounting team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting-system proficiency.
• High integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential financial information.

Position: On-site, in-office leadership role at the Corporate Office in Tupelo, MS; regular in-person attendance required.
