MSCPA Day of Service Expands to Help More Mississippians in Need
MSCPA volunteers turned out for the Mississippi Society of CPAs statewide annual CPA Day of Service on Friday, Nov. 3, teaming up at events around the state to lend a helping hand. This was the third year that MSCPA implemented a Day of Service for CPAs and students majoring in accounting at Mississippi colleges. Because of event awareness and increased participation, MSCPA was able to expand its CPA Day of Service into Cleveland, Gulfport, Starkville and Tupelo for the first time.

In Meridian, members volunteered at Love’s Kitchen, Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter, and the Wesley House Community Center. In Natchez, members volunteered at Stewpot where they boxed up over 300 meals and also helped serve the noon meal. In Oxford, members and Ole Miss Beta Alpha Psi students volunteered at The Pantry and organized and shelved over 1,300 pounds of canned goods. In Starkville, members and Mississippi State University Beta Alpha Psi students volunteered at Salvation Army. In Tupelo, members volunteered at Salvation Army. Metro Jackson members participated in the UPS holiday food drive benefiting the Mississippi Food Network and collected food at various Kroger locations. MSCPA would like to thank our Young CPA Network for organizing the event, and would also like to extend a big thank you to our members who willingly gave of their time.
