Maura is an Assurance Member with BMSS, LLC with more than 25 years of combined public and corporate accounting experience. She manages assurance and related services for a wide range of privately held and non-profit entities as well as provides consulting services on various financial matters. Maura has in depth experience in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, analytical review and financial statement preparation. Maura has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Clemson University and a Masters in Business Administration from The Citadel Graduate College. Maura is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Global Management Accountant and a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. Maura and her husband Jeff live in Flowood, Mississippi and have four children and three grandchildren.

Steve Mulhollen is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy at Mississippi College, where he teaches Principles, Intermediate, and Cost accounting. He also serves as the University's Assistant Chief Financial Officer.

His 27-year career spans investor relations and financial analysis at WorldCom, wood and fiber procurement accounting for Georgia Pacific, public accounting at HORNE, and leadership roles as CFO of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Executive Pastor/Treasurer at Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Steve holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi, an MBA and Certificate in Accounting from Mississippi College, and a BA in Christian Studies. He maintains an active CPA license and SHRM-SCP designation, serves on the MSCPA Not-for-Profit Committee, and provides consulting services to non-profit and governmental organizations through his company, Poiema LLC.

Whitney is a Senior Manager at BMSS, LLC, in Huntsville, AL, with experience providing assurance services to local government and nonprofit organizations. She is leader within BMSS's nonprofit niche, with a specialty in compliance for organizations exempt from income tax.

Chris comes to NCF from Sound Financial Strategies Group, where he served as managing partner and senior financial advisor. In that role, he guided the firm’s growth while helping families pursue lasting generational impact through wise financial stewardship. He holds an MBA from Mississippi College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Mississippi. He also studied international finance at King’s College in London and completed advanced financial planning coursework through the College of Financial Planning.

Chris’ passion is teaching biblical financial management. He has authored books and articles on the topic and is the creator of The Chase podcast, where he often reminds listeners: “While you are chasing something good, God is chasing you with something great.”

Beyond his professional work, Chris serves as a volunteer prison chaplain, is an elder in his church, and partners with ministries and missions locally and globally. He and his wife are blessed with three teenage daughters.

In 2025, Angy Graham became Executive Director of Magnolia Speech School, bringing more than 25 years of experience in Mississippi public education. Her career spans classroom teaching, instructional leadership, and district-level administration, most recently serving as Executive Director of Academics for Rankin County School District. After retiring from public education in June 2025, Angy joined Magnolia to continue her lifelong commitment to student growth and academic success.

Angy’s connection to Magnolia Speech School is both professional and deeply personal. She and her husband, Robert, are the parents of two sons, Carter and Trey, both Magnolia Speech School alumni. Carter was born prematurely and diagnosed early with significant bilateral hearing loss, receiving cochlear implants before his first birthday. The family chose Magnolia for its use of the Association Method and its intentional focus on listening, spoken language, and meaningful auditory experiences. Magnolia’s commitment to educating Carter alongside his brother, Trey, was especially meaningful, and from 2017 to 2022, the school played a critical role in building a strong educational and developmental foundation for both boys.

Today, Angy leads Magnolia Speech School with a unique perspective—as an experienced educator, an educational leader, and a parent whose family was personally shaped by Magnolia’s mission. She understands firsthand the difference that dedicated teachers, therapists, and staff can make in the lives of children and their families. Her professional experience in education, combined with her personal connection to Magnolia, gives her a deep appreciation for both the school’s impact and the responsibility of carrying its mission forward. Her leadership represents a true full-circle moment and a strong bridge between Magnolia’s rich legacy and its future.

Under her leadership, Magnolia will continue to focus on student achievement, family engagement, and providing children with the skills,

confidence, and support they need to reach their fullest potential.

Today, I help nonprofit consultants, business owners, and sales professionals build standout personal brands, attract qualified leads, and grow their businesses through LinkedIn coaching, content strategy, and brand development.

Jay Philpott has dedicated decades to nonprofit work, beginning as a student phonathon caller in high school and advancing through roles such as phonathon manager and advancement intern during his college years. Over the span of 25 years, he has honed his skills in marketing, fundraising, and revenue generation, primarily within independent schools, colleges, and universities across the Southeast Region.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Jay pursued his education at a boarding school in New York before earning his Bachelor of Arts in History from Presbyterian College (SC) and his Master of Science in Leadership with a concentration in higher education from the University of Memphis (TN).

Throughout his career, Jay has spearheaded fundraising and revenue efforts at various institutions, including Presbyterian College (SC), Sweet Briar College (VA), Rhodes College (TN), The University of Memphis (TN), St. George’s Independent School (TN), Trinity-Pawling School (NY), and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (MS). His development work has taken him across the Southeast and Midwest, where he has cultivated relationships and secured funding for crucial educational initiatives.

In July of 2021, Jay transitioned to The Education Group, a national search firm specializing in leadership searches for independent schools. During his tenure, he facilitated over ten searches for schools across several states and represented the firm at sales conferences. He completed more than ten searches for schools located in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia and represented the firm at sales conferences.

Jay’s passion for facilities, endowment work, and nonprofit governance is evident through his service on various boards and committees, including those at St. Columba Episcopal Retreat and Conference Center (TN), St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral (MS), and as President of the Dinsmor Neighborhood Home Owners Association (MS).

Residing in Ridgeland, MS, with his wife Emily, who serves as the Director of Global Studies and an AP teacher at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Jay cherishes family time and global travel adventures. An avid cyclist, in 2024 Jay completed the entire 444-mile stretch of the Natchez Trace Parkway in four days, in addition to routine century rides, including the UCI Gran Fondo World Series at Cheaha State Park, and the Dragons Tail and Cherohala Skyway in 2025.
