Understanding quality management standards is essential for all CPAs, whether you're performing attestation engagements or working in industry. This comprehensive four-hour course provides CPAs in both public accounting and industry with a practical refresher on the AICPA's quality management standards and its broad implications for professional practice. Public accounting practitioners will examine what quality management looks like in daily practice—from firm-level systems to engagement-level procedures—with particular emphasis on specific audit and review procedures that should be implemented under current standards. Industry CPAs will discover how these standards directly impact their work with external auditors, inform best practices for internal audit functions, enhance financial reporting quality, and provide a framework for applying quality management principles to corporate accounting operations. Through lecture, interactive discussions, and targeted practical examples, participants will understand current requirements for audit, review, and compilation engagements while exploring how quality management thinking strengthens controllership, internal audit, and corporate accounting functions. This course demonstrates that quality management principles are fundamental to accounting excellence across all practice settings, improving both the delivery and receipt of professional services. This course is eligible for Yellow Book.
