This course provides CPAs in industry and public practice with an intermediate-level understanding of human capital development (HCD) and the role of workforce development as a central component of that framework. Human capital development focuses on building people's knowledge, skills, capabilities, and capacity to improve organizational performance, while workforce development refers to the structured systems and interventions organizations use to develop, deploy, and sustain that human capital. Participants will examine foundational concepts of human capital development and explore how workforce development strategies contribute to improved individual and organizational outcomes. The course emphasizes practical, performance-oriented interventions and demonstrates how CPAs can apply HCD principles and workforce development strategies in leadership roles, operational decision-making, and client advisory services.
